Publication: An Intelligent Mobile Application to Monitor the Availability of Tennis Courts using Machine Learning and Object Detection

Abstract: Acemind addresses the lack of real-time tennis court availability information by using Raspberry Pi computers, cameras, a Firestore Database, and a mobile app to enhance player experience and accessibility. Key challenges, such as running the YOLOv5 object detection model and ensuring accurate court information display, were resolved through careful adjustments in software and app functions. Despite limitations like requiring a cellular connection and government permission, Acemind proves valuable by offering accessible court information, helping to bridge the inequality gap in sports access.
